Welcome to Marketique
Marketique is a micro business working with family groups in
south East Asia. Designs are a collaboration of
contemporary & tribal ideas.
Where possible, local cottons, dyes, & printing are sourced. Often a finishing touch will be a silver ball, wooden button, bead, or fine stitching. The silver ball is one of the basic jewellery pieces of the Hill Tribe peoples wealth, the ladies would often wear their customary silver for celebrations, & for safe keeping.

Vintage Hmong fabric collection

B1840AS1 Collar bag #1 front view
The vintage collection is produced from pre-loved Hmong tribal garments, eg jackets, skirts, collars, pants and other clothing.
Each garment was hand stitched by women and girls, as an important part of tribal life.
The intricate embroidered pieces would represent the learning handed down from family and tribal members. The fabric is rich with texture, colour, and beauty.
This is a preservation of the story of needle work, being given a new life by present day Hmong people.
